Swans Two Excellent Multimedia Speakers - 2.X Multimedia Speaker Horizontal Evaluation Excerpt
Multimedia speaker test method
For the evaluation of speakers, what we can see is more subjective evaluation, and the quality of speakers is often weighed by the testers' listening experience. Due to the many subjective factors involved, the sound effects of speakers are completely controlled by the testers. This is what our readers and friends do not want to see. This speaker evaluation has been supported by many manufacturers. A total of 26 multimedia speakers with 2.x specifications have been collected. In order to ensure the accuracy and scientificity of the evaluation results, we specially follow the steps below to conduct the test.
Professional part test
This part of the test is mainly to detect the electrical performance of the speaker through professional equipment. There are four main indicators that have a greater impact on the quality of speakers: distortion, separation, signal-to-noise ratio and power.
1. Distortion test
Distortion is divided into three types: harmonic distortion, intermodulation distortion and transient distortion. The distortion we usually refer to is harmonic distortion, which refers to the distortion caused by the addition of high-order harmonic components that are not present in the original signal during sound playback. What really affects the quality of the speaker is the transient distortion. The transient distortion is because the speaker has a certain inertial mass, and the vibration of the basin cannot keep up with the vibration of the instantaneously changing electrical signal, resulting in the existence of the original signal and the playback tone. difference. We are evaluating "1W distortion" this time, and the smaller the value of the evaluation result, the better.
2. Separation test
Speakers with good separation will not have the phenomenon of cross-talk of each channel. The larger the value, the better. According to industry standards, the separation of multimedia speakers cannot be lower than 40dB, otherwise it will have a greater impact on sound effects.
3. Signal-to-noise ratio test
The signal-to-noise ratio is the ratio of the voltage of the output signal of the amplifier to the noise voltage output at the same time. Generally speaking, the larger the signal-to-noise ratio, the smaller the noise mixed in the signal, and the higher the quality of sound playback, and vice versa. According to industry standards, the signal-to-noise ratio of multimedia speakers should generally not be lower than 60dB.
4. Power test
Power is divided into nominal power and maximum withstand power. The nominal power is what we often call the rated power, which determines the state in which the speaker can work stably for a long time. The maximum withstand power refers to the maximum power that the speaker can withstand in a short time. The power value marked on the box of the multimedia speaker, some manufacturers print the rated power, while some manufacturers are the maximum power. The power value of the speaker cannot be read directly through the instrument, but we can directly measure the voltage and impedance, so that the power value of the speaker can be calculated.
Description of trial experience
This is an auxiliary test method. The sound quality of the speakers is judged by the subjective evaluation feelings of the evaluators. The speakers we evaluated this time are all 2.x specifications, and we have a more detailed introduction to the shape of each speaker.
Swans M200
The Swans M200 is a 2.0 size speaker. The front panel is black and beveled. Each speaker uses two speaker units, and a large black mesh dust cover is used on the panel.
Under the panel, there are three golden round knobs, which control the volume, treble and bass of the speaker respectively. The shape is very delicate, and its feel is good. The two sides of the box are inlaid with dark red wooden boards, which have very beautiful patterns. The back of the speaker is designed with a small-diameter reversing hole, and the power button and indicator lights are located below the back panel. On the left side of the power button, there are two rows of terminals, the upper row is for power output and the lower row is for line input. It is worth mentioning that the power output terminal (input to another speaker) is a large gold-plated drawer type, which can be inserted into the plug and can be directly wound. For users, this design is very convenient.
Each speaker of the Swans M200 is very heavy, the box body should be made of quite dense material, and the whole product also gives people a solid feeling.
The sound of the Swans M200 is good. Due to the dual speaker design, the treble part is clear and bright; the performance of the midrange part is also very good; the bass part has good elasticity, and there is basically no mixing phenomenon. In the mixed performance of a variety of instruments, this speaker shows an excellent sense of hierarchy, and the various scales are well connected. But I feel that this speaker is lacking in power, which is also shown in the test.
Swan T200A
Swan T200A is a product with 2.0 specifications. The two speakers are exactly the same. The shape is quite peculiar. It completely breaks through the shackles of traditional thinking. The main color is black and white. Reminds me of the pyramids in Egypt.
The whole speaker is painted with black piano paint on three sides. There is a golden and white inlay on the front panel in the middle, and there is a round hole for an LED indicator at the bottom. When the speaker is working, it is faintly visible under the black mask. There was a blue glow in it.
The two speakers of Swan T200A are designed exactly the same, they are controlled by independent circuits, and the box is solid. The back of each speaker is designed with a large black heat sink, and each has its own volume control knob. This design can only be seen on high-end speakers. Users can adjust the volume of the two speakers separately to achieve the best sound effect.
Since the two speakers of Swan T200A use independent circuits and controls, there is no separation test.
The sound effect of Swan T200A can be described as perfect. The sound quality is exquisite and clear.
"Best Performance Award" awarded to "Swan T200A"
The Swans T200A scored excellent in the professional test, and in the actual audition, we found that the sound quality of this speaker is very good, which can be described as "natural beauty". In terms of shape, this speaker is also uniquely designed and has a very strong visual impact. Swans T200A perfectly combines performance and appearance. For this reason, we awarded this product the "Best Performance Award".
